Candelis Provides Modern and Comprehensive Image Management Platform to Colombian Hospital

Newport Beach, CA (November 1, 2015) – Candelis, Inc., one of the fastest growing healthcare IT companies, installs a solution at Hospital Universitario San Rafael in Bogota, Colombia.

The 400-bed hospital was dissatisfied with its previous image management and workflow solution, which was causing inefficiencies in workflow, storage limitations, greater likelihood for patient data inconsistency and error, and was unable to accommodate their growing needs. 

“We have a staff of over 1300 radiologists, surgeons, physicians, nurses, and technologists that operate on behalf of hospital needs. Our previous PACS was just not adequate. We needed a modern solution that could optimize our workflow, help us go completely paperless, and establish more efficient electronic communication between the radiology staff. After extensive evaluation of various medical informatics options including all enterprise providers, we chose Candelis,” said Clinical Director Andres Lopez.

In addition, the Candelis solution provided a one-stop shop for the radiologists to interpret studies with patient history, physician’s order and technologist’s clinical notes at their fingertips, allowing for efficient and accurate retrospective analysis by consultants and key specialists.

Finally, with the implementation of ASTRATM cloud services, automated backup for images, study and report distribution was established.
